Halo

Ablative-level resurfacing with non-ablative downtime — the world’s first hybrid fractional laser.

About Halo

Halo is a hybrid fractional laser that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in one treatment to improve wrinkles, pores, scars, and pigment with powerful results and less downtime than traditional resurfacing. Delivering both wavelengths to the same microscopic zone produces ablative-level outcomes with the recovery of a gentler laser.

Best For

  • Wrinkles
  • Pores
  • Acne scars
  • Sun damage
  • Pigmentation
  • Texture
  • Advanced resurfacing

Why Halo

  • Powerfully treats wrinkles, pores, scars, and pigmentary issues in one session
  • Less painful than traditional ablative fractional resurfacing
  • Significant clinical results in just 1 to 2 treatments
  • Faster healing time than purely ablative lasers
  • Both wavelengths can be precisely dialed in to your tolerance and goals

How It Works

  1. 01

    Consultation

Your dermatologist evaluates your skin, concerns, and downtime tolerance to dial in the precise ablative and non-ablative settings for your treatment.

  2. 02

    Treatment

Topical numbing is applied for about 30 minutes. The Halo handpiece delivers the dual wavelengths to each treatment area in roughly 30 to 60 minutes total.

  3. 03

    Recovery & Results

Swelling and redness for 3 to 4 days, followed by a bronzed appearance and light peeling over 3 to 4 days. Most patients return to social activities within 5 to 7 days. Significant results visible in 1 to 2 treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Halo different from Moxi?

Both are Sciton fractional lasers. Moxi is non-ablative and gentler, with shorter recovery and ideal for tone, texture, and prejuvenation. Halo is hybrid (ablative + non-ablative) with deeper resurfacing, more substantial results in 1 to 2 treatments, and 5 to 7 days of social downtime. Your dermatologist can recommend which fits your goals.

How many Halo treatments will I need?

Most patients see significant clinical results in 1 to 2 treatments. Some choose to repeat Halo annually for ongoing maintenance. Your dermatologist will recommend a plan based on your concerns and how your skin responds.

What is Halo Eyes?

Halo Eyes is a deep under-eye resurfacing treatment performed with small internal eye shields placed on the eye for safety. This allows the laser to be used closer to the lash line than typical lasers permit, addressing crepiness, fine lines, and pigment in the periocular area.

What's the downtime?

Plan for 5 to 7 days of social downtime. Expect swelling and redness for 3 to 4 days, followed by a bronzed appearance and light peeling over 3 to 4 days. Continued improvement develops over 3 months as collagen rebuilds.

Is Halo painful?

Topical numbing is applied for 30 minutes before treatment. Most patients describe the sensation as warm and prickly. Halo is reported to be less painful than traditional ablative fractional resurfacing because of its hybrid design and built-in cooling.

Can I combine Halo with other treatments?

Yes. Halo is often paired with Moxi (50% off Moxi when combined in the same session) or PRP (added topically or injected for accelerated healing and enhanced results). Your dermatologist will recommend whether a combination is right for you.

Is Halo safe for darker skin tones?

Halo can be performed on a range of skin tones, but settings must be carefully tailored for darker skin (Fitzpatrick IV and above) to minimize the risk of pigment changes. Your dermatologist will confirm whether you're a good candidate at consultation.

When is the best time of year for Halo?

Halo is best performed in fall, winter, and early spring when sun exposure is minimal. Strict sun protection is essential for at least 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatment to optimize results and protect newly resurfaced skin.
