Chemical Peels

Tailored peels that smooth texture, brighten tone, and improve acne and discoloration.

About Chemical Peels

Chemical peels exfoliate damaged outer layers of skin to improve discoloration, dull texture, wrinkles, acne, and mild acne scarring. Strength can be customized from light, social-downtime peels to deeper treatments for more targeted resurfacing.

Best For

  • Dullness
  • Acne
  • Discoloration
  • Fine lines
  • Mild acne scars
  • Uneven texture

Why Chemical Peels

  • Time-tested treatment for tone, texture, and discoloration
  • Multiple formulations tailored to different concerns
  • No equipment required — pure dermatologic chemistry
  • Glytone for gentle maintenance; V.I. Peel for stronger correction
  • Excellent paired with microneedling, lasers, or other treatments

How It Works

  1. 01

    Skin Prep

Skin is thoroughly cleansed and degreased to allow uniform peel application.

  2. 02

    Peel Application

The chosen chemical solution is applied to the skin for the prescribed time. Sensation ranges from a mild tingle to brief stinging depending on strength.

  3. 03

    Neutralization & Recovery

The solution is neutralized or self-neutralizing peels are completed. Mild peeling develops over 2 to 7 days, revealing brighter, smoother skin.

What to Expect

  • 30- to 45-minute session including prep
  • Mild tingling or stinging during application
  • Glytone: minimal peeling; V.I. Peel: 2 to 5 days of peeling
  • Best results from a series of 4 to 6 peels
  • Sun protection essential before and after each peel

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Glytone and V.I. Peels?

Glytone peels (glycolic, salicylic, TCA, pyruvic) are gentler at $250 per peel — great for maintenance, mild correction, and sensitive skin. V.I. Peels at $400 to $600 are stronger combination peels with 2 to 5 days of visible peeling and more dramatic results.

Is a chemical peel painful?

Most peels feel like mild tingling or brief stinging during application. V.I. Peels are stronger and may have a few minutes of more intense sensation. None require anesthesia.

How much downtime?

Glytone peels typically have minimal visible peeling. V.I. Peels produce 2 to 5 days of visible peeling with mineral makeup acceptable after 24 hours.

How often can I get a chemical peel?

Glytone peels can be repeated as often as every 4 weeks. V.I. Peels are typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart in a series of 4 to 6.

Are peels safe for darker skin tones?

Yes — with the right formulation. Salicylic acid and pyruvic peels are typically safer for darker skin tones. V.I. Peel Purify is also commonly used. Your dermatologist will recommend the right formulation.

Can I combine peels with other treatments?

Yes. Peels pair well with microneedling, laser treatments, and at-home retinoid regimens. Your dermatologist will sequence your plan.

When will I see results?

Initial brightening is visible within days of a single peel. The full effect of a series develops over 4 to 8 weeks.
