PRP, microneedling, and Omnilux LED therapy combined for natural hair regrowth.
Tribeca Park Dermatology offers three non-surgical hair restoration modalities — PRP injections, microneedling, and Omnilux Red LED therapy — used individually or combined to treat male and female pattern hair loss. Each modality stimulates the scalp through a different mechanism, allowing your dermatologist to tailor a plan to your hair type and stage of loss.
Your dermatologist examines your scalp, classifies the pattern of loss, and takes baseline photos to track progress.
Depending on your plan: PRP is injected and/or microneedled into the scalp; LED therapy is added for synergy.
Initial series of 3 sessions spaced 1 to 2 months apart, followed by 1 to 2 maintenance sessions per year based on clinical progress.
Three non-surgical hair restoration modalities are offered, each priced individually so they can be performed alone or combined for a more comprehensive approach. PRP and microneedling work synergistically and produce the strongest results when paired.
Omnilux Red — standalone or combined
For PRP, 3 sessions spaced 1 to 2 months apart with 1 to 2 maintenance sessions yearly. For LED therapy as a standalone, 8 weekly sessions followed by monthly maintenance. LED can also be combined with PRP and microneedling to boost results.
Yes. Multiple peer-reviewed studies have shown PRP injections to halt and partially reverse the miniaturization of hairs in male and female pattern hair loss. Best results typically come from combination protocols (PRP + microneedling + LED) and consistent maintenance.
An initial series of 3 sessions spaced 1 to 2 months apart is standard. After that, 1 to 2 maintenance sessions per year are advised to retain results. Combining PRP with microneedling produces the most robust outcomes.
Topical numbing or vibratory anesthesia is used to make scalp injections comfortable. Most patients describe mild pinpricking. Microneedling alone is typically very tolerable; LED is painless.
Existing hair often appears thicker and healthier within 2 to 3 months. New hair growth typically becomes visible at 3 to 6 months and continues building through the first year.
Yes — in fact, the strongest results often come from combining in-office treatments (PRP, microneedling, LED) with at-home medical therapy (finasteride and/or minoxidil). Your dermatologist can plan a comprehensive regimen.
Almost none. Mild scalp tenderness and pinpoint redness for hours after PRP/microneedling. You can wash your hair the next day and return to normal activities the same day.
Yes. Hair restoration protocols are widely used for female pattern hair loss, postpartum thinning, and stress-related shedding. Your dermatologist will tailor the plan to your specific pattern of loss.
